Commonly known as ITM, our Introduction to Motorcycling course is designed for the very beginner who has never ridden a motorcycle, scooter or moped before and does not yet feel ready to attempt the CBT course (Compulsory Basic Training). Approx course length 2hrs 30mins.
Although the CBT course is aimed at beginners, the syllabus is structured in a way where only a set amount of time can be allocated for each element in order for the course to finish at a reasonable time for our instructors, usually around 5pm. Our ITM course, with it’s smaller group size (max 2 students) takes the pressure off, as you won’t be mixed in with more experienced riders who may be renewing their CBT’s for the umpteenth time, they also allow more flexibility for us to focus solely on machine control and the various practical on site exercises that you will need to successfully complete during element ‘C’ of the CBT course.
If you are a complete beginner in regards to riding a motorcycle/scooter and do not feel confident enough to attempt the CBT yet and/or if your expectation is to complete your Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) in one day, then we advise you start with an ITM – (Introduction to Motorcycling) course prior to your CBT. By doing so, you will have a clearer idea of what to expect on the day, and it will also give us an opportunity to assess your particular learning potential so that we can advise how best to proceed with your training goals.
